3 First Aid Tips to Help You Deal with Sports Injuries Effectively

Whether you’re playing on a court, on a field, or on a track, the risk of injuries is inevitable.

That’s why you should always be prepared. It will allow you to help yourself or anyone else who might have gotten injured during a sports session. Here we are sharing three first aid tips that every sportsperson must know before entering the ground.

1. For Sprains, Strains, and Injuries in Joints

Sprains and muscle pulls are the most common sports injuries among athletes.

If you want to keep these problems at bay so that they don’t bother you in the long run, you can use the following first aid techniques.

If the injury appears to be severe and too painful, get in touch with a doctor. For this, you can use an ambulance booking service like Ambulnz. Severe pain or inability to move could indicate a fracture.

The moment you identify a sprain, apply ice to the affected area for twenty minutes and repeat the process every two hours. This should be done for at least 2-3 days.

Give the injured body part a good rest for 48-72 hours. This will speed up the recovery and will keep the injury from getting worse.

2. In Case of a Bloody Nose, Do This

Another common type of sports injury is a bloody nose.

Here are the first aid tips that can help you get the situation under control until a professional sports medic arrives.

Sit down (preferably in a seat with a back) and try to stay still.

Lean your head forward slightly and gently pinch your nose. Contrary to popular belief, tilting your head back is not the way to handle a nosebleed – it could cause blood to go down the back of the throat.

Keep pressure on your nose for at least 5 minutes.

If these tips don’t help after 20-30 minutes, or if you are losing a large amount of blood, call ASSIC Clinic.

3. In Case of A Tooth Injury, Do This

If you have knocked off a tooth while on the field, don’t worry. With the right dental treatment, it may be able to be implanted back. Just make sure to hang on to the dislodged tooth. It should be placed inside a cup of lukewarm milk.

Once you have done this, get in touch with your dentist as soon as possible. Delaying the treatment can lead to several severe problems.
